Alexa contacted me to do her makeup on her wedding day. Since I was already booked, I suggested she have a private Makeup Overhaul and Lesson so she can feel confident doing her own makeup on her wedding day. Alexa thought that was a fabulous idea and booked an Overhaul for the next week. She and her mom brought all of their current products and brushes to my studio. We discuss Alexa’s lifestyle, budget, and the look she would like to achieve on her wedding day. I went through all of her existing makeup and we talked about what is working for her as well as what she should replace. I also recommended products that would work for her skin tone and texture on a daily basis. Alexa went home from the Overhaul with a detailed shopping list including the product, brand, store, and price. I highlighted the products she should have on hand for her wedding day but included many more items on the list that she may want to try in the future.
Once Alexa had all of her new items, we booked a time for her lesson. At Alexa’s lesson we did a half-face technique where I did a step on one side of her face and she followed up with the other side. This way of teaching is beneficial as I was able to witness her application while she was gaining the muscle memory on how to apply her products alone. We went over the proper order of application in addition to teaching a formula on how to apply her eye makeup using different tones. Alexa received a detailed instruction list as well as a Key to her eyeshadow palette so she feels comfortable using all of the colors – that way she will get her money’s worth!
Alexa’s new day-to-night makeup routine is affordable and streamlined. She will never again second-guess her products or application techniques. Go Alexa!!
